AIS partnered with Tangle to redefine its brand identity by aligning deep Indian educational values with a contemporary visual language. The goal was to position AIS as a serious, trusted institution while appealing to a new generation of students preparing for competitive academic journeys.

Challenge & Outcome
Education brands in India often struggle to balance heritage with aspiration. AIS needed an identity that communicated academic rigor, cultural depth, and future readiness without appearing outdated or ornamental.

The challenge was not limited to visual aesthetics. AIS required a brand system that could clearly express its philosophy, build trust with parents, and inspire confidence among students across digital and physical environments.

Defining the Foundation
The identity work began by understanding the philosophical roots of AIS and the meaning behind Avabodham, which represents knowledge, awareness, and enlightenment. This concept formed the foundation for the entire brand narrative.
By grounding the identity in this idea, the brand was able to feel authentic and purposeful while still expressing ambition and forward momentum.
Translating Values into Visual Meaning
The AIS identity translates cultural values into a clear and contemporary visual system. The logo combines symbolic references to learning, knowledge, and discipline, creating a mark that feels rooted in Indian academic tradition while remaining modern and authoritative. The system reinforces trust and seriousness without relying on ornamentation.
The colour palette and typography support this foundation with clarity and confidence. Deep academic tones establish stability, while brighter accents introduce energy and aspiration. Inter was chosen for its modern structure and legibility, ensuring consistency across digital and physical applications.
Our focus was to respect the cultural depth behind Avabodham while shaping an identity that feels clear, disciplined, and contemporary. Every decision was made to reduce visual noise and let meaning, structure, and purpose lead the design.
